I'm Stu Turvey

- aka Encore Innovation -

G'

day

a passionate, creative, marketing kinda guy who avoids the hype, teaming up with the

industries best to deliver what others need/want.

long story

short version

An Aussie - born & bred in Canberra - I’m now based in the UK, funnily enough in Scotland's capital.

The long and short of it is that over the past two decades I've been educated in the art of marketing, beginning with my first small business, then Radio, VoiceOvers, adding Custom/Bespoke/ Brandcentric (c'mon...) In-Store media.

I do not know everything about marketing. I just keep asking a question that drove my parents mad – why?

To cap it off the UC acknowledged me as a Master in Comms/Marketing last year.  This follows 20+ years of being surrounded by Masters of traditional media and now Wizards of Grassroots and other higher social vines.

What I offer is for any size operation/outfit to explore and expand their reach in their chosen areas.

in-store media

+ syndicated radio

Ever wondered why retail instore audio/AV doesn’t quite do it for you? So I did too. Which is why we built, literally, custom-branded instore audio/AV, introducing a unique marketing approach to Australia.

Completely integrated for Audio, Audio Visual and OnHold Marketing, SMART audio is built up through client consultation, delivering a program completely tailored to your specific brand image and marketing approach.

SMARTradio

SMARTvision

Offering you complete customer communication within your retail outlet/s, SMARTradio programs are designed to boost all other touchpoints in-store. Lets call them hearpoints, possibly with a capital H.

SMARTvision comes via the sourcing, producing and delivering unique, customised audio-visual programs, completely and discreetly smothered in your brand

OnHold Marketing

OnHold Marketing is one of the most underutilised in-store marketing tools today. The poor cousin, that’s charged with communicating your brand and what your business is about, is reborn.

SMARTsyndiradio

From one end of the spectrum to the other – Golden Years, a program built around the last 50 years of Australian Top 40, to Crystal Radio, a wireless (yes as in old radio) programme with radio serials and the pop music of the 30s 40s, & 50s

distinctive voiceovers

+ Podcasts

One word's often used when describing Stuart Edward Turvey... Voice. With that one word he's managed to inform, amuse, sell, find love, escape trouble and make a career.

His relaxed, lighthearted nature is teamed with an excellent service mindset, that ensures he delivers his very best. Using the "2 ears, 1 mouth - use them equally" theory, Stuart always delivers more.

Last century, Stu went freelance & has since achieved an excellent reputation for world class voiceovers.

Stu's range of work covers both TV and Radio commercials and station promos, along with game shows and corporate videos through to telephone on hold and in store marketing.

Finally, today's Podcasts, that offer yet another medium for a Distinctive Voiceover to reach your audience..

CONSULTING

Why

... the business enterprise has two — and only two — basic functions: marketing and innovation. Marketing and innovation produce results; all the rest are costs. Marketing is the distinguishing, unique function of the business.

CREATIONS

tabCoosh

Pain in the arms

It is possibly our greatest Encore Innovation, the tabCoosh. Young Aussie, Stu Turvey, found it damn hard to make the most of his tablet; iPads as they were in those days, and wanted to solve the ‘comfort’ problem.

First Prototype

A design to suit the human body, with laps the ideal resting place (along with tables, benches and the like), was needed. Something so big kids & little kids, could move their tablet about securely. His invention grew, with his mother-in-law stitching up the first prototype, so to speak, and our baby was born.

The Look

Three things came into play when Stu began designing the tabCoosh, it had to be comfortable, it had to be practical and it had to look spectacular, so you’d be happy to been seen with your tabCoosh.

Tablet Comfort

By simply securing each tab safely into a little bean bag pillow, the “pain in the arms” strain of holding your tablet disappeared. So comfort decreed the flimsy holders or rigid stands a thing of the past, giving way to the tablet comfort of the Original tabCoosh..

To be honest, we don't mind a little retro when it comes to the old communiqués (sorry, we haven’t a facsimile machine).

That said, the word is that a little social media goes a long way - so here's a few options below:

Guidance is the big thing. Blending real, hands-on experience of running several small businesses with years of practical effective, common sense marketing, Stu offers honest, down to earth consultancy services.

Traditionally consultants are brought in for answers/advice/help/miracles.

Often the answers are buried away in the person who’s relied on their business talents – you. No flow charts, no pie charts (whatever), it simply gets back to his gift of asking the question that almost drove his parents completely mad – “Why”?

By making sure you’re both comfortable working together, having touched base via phone, skype or the old school face to face, you should be well under way to finding any niggles and indentifying how to create solutions to those questions.

Those in the past that have made use of Stu’s quizzical makeup include Australia’s Waratahs – you may have seen 14 of them recently in the Wallabies. Media coaching was pared back to the “Why’s” around execution by media.

If you’re going down the dauntings route of a startup, well it’s only as good as the innovation you’ve built. Business plans are an essential for a bank (if you’re going to go that way, avoiding crowdfunding) and pulling it all together but it’s plucking out all the good pieces that are going to bring your baby to life. And for that it’s always handy to have another plucker.

Whether you've an established retail in-store audio/AV setup but  lack  time, or are keen to create your own earpoints, SMART Consulting has a recipe for you to design your completely integrated audio/AV and OnHold Marketing.

Communication within many  businesses can be challenging and sometime you just need a hand to develop a good strategic marketing plan. Maybe it’s best to see Stu as a

Business psychologist, a Bizchologist if you will. Then, working together, determine which marketing techniques to use and how you’ll use them. Don’t be anti Social, you’ll probably need FB, TW & LI

So, whether you’ve got a dumb idea or in need of wake up call, at the end of the day, it’s just a quick email or phone call to give it a shot. No matter how far you go, you can always bail, at no cost.
